Description

  • Evaluate and model complex Non-QM loan scenarios, including alternative income, multiple properties, and non-traditional credit profiles.
    • Provide structured analysis and recommendations to underwriting, credit policy, and operations teams.
    • Collaborate with underwriters to assess risk, pricing, and eligibility for unique borrower scenarios.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company credit policies and lending parameters to ensure scenario evaluations are accurate and compliant.
    • Partner with capital markets to ensure loan scenarios align with funding strategies and investor expectations.
    • Prepare scenario documentation, presentations, and reports for internal teams and leadership review.
    • Identify trends, patterns, or issues within borrower scenarios to inform policy updates or operational improvements.
    • Support training and guidance for underwriting and operations teams on complex loan structures.
    • Monitor pipeline of challenging loan scenarios and provide timely recommendations to facilitate production flow.

Requirements

  • Required: 3–5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, credit analysis, or mortgage product structuring.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience modeling complex mortgage scenarios.
    • Deep understanding of Non-QM mortgage products, alternative income documentation, and non-traditional credit profiles.
    • Experience working with mortgage loan pipelines and production systems, preferably Encompass LOS.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings clearly and concisely.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across underwriting, operations, and capital markets teams.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
