Position Overview

Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of two residential group homes serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining safe, person-centered services while supporting residents, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

The Residential Supervisor works closely with administration, families, Waiver Support Coordinators, healthcare providers, and community partners. The position combines team leadership, direct care, case management, quality assurance, scheduling, financial oversight, documentation, and hands-on support in the homes.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Staff Supervision

• Lead, coach, train, and support residential staff while promoting a positive and accountable team culture

• Develop staff schedules that maintain required coverage and meet APD Staffing Calculator requirements

• Review and approve timecards, manage time-off requests, and coordinate holiday coverage

• Conduct monthly informal employee evaluations and provide positive and constructive feedback

• Participate in interviewing, hiring, employee development, corrective action, and termination processes

• Monitor staff interactions with residents and provide training, shadowing, and refresher instruction

• Maintain an agency-issued phone and remain available for residential emergencies

Resident Care & Advocacy

• Ensure residents receive respectful, person-centered support consistent with Support Plans and Implementation Plans

• Work two direct-care shifts each week and assist with additional coverage to maintain continuity of care

• Oversee residents’ physical, behavioral, emotional, and nutritional health needs

• Arrange, attend, and provide transportation to medical appointments while advocating for residents and following provider instructions

• Support residents during medical or behavioral crises, including emergency room or walk-in care visits

• Promote meaningful community involvement, personal choice, independence, dignity, and quality of life

• Develop monthly activity calendars based on resident preferences and appropriate community opportunities

Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with Challenge Enterprises policies and all applicable CMS, AHCA, Qlarant, iBudget, and APD requirements

• Review service authorizations, licensing records, Support Plan documentation, and required on-site records for accuracy and timeliness

• Conduct routine home visits during daytime, evening, and weekend hours to monitor service quality

• Complete monthly health and safety reviews, vehicle inspections, emergency supply checks, and first-aid kit reviews

• Maintain resident emergency kits, annual personal disaster plans, and special-needs registry information

• Report medication errors, critical and non-critical incidents, suspected abuse or neglect, and notices of non-compliance promptly

• Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans within required deadlines

• Prepare for and participate in licensing reviews and audits by governing agencies

Documentation & Case Management

• Use Therap and other approved systems to review daily documentation, T-Logs, S-Comms, and case notes

• Conduct quality assurance reviews and prepare Quarterly Summaries, Annual Summaries, and Implementation Plans

• Ensure required reports are sent to Waiver Support Coordinators and legal guardians and uploaded to iConnect within established timeframes

• Participate in resident Support Plan meetings, case management meetings, and statewide quality assurance meetings

• Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records, controlled medication counts, medication destruction records, and related health documentation

Financial & Operational Oversight

• Manage resident funds and records, reconcile bank statements, verify receipts, oversee room-and-board payments, and support resident budgeting

• Monitor the group home budget, Profit and Loss statements, General Ledger, staff petty cash, and reimbursement reports

• Complete monthly billing, medication error, incident, health and safety, vehicle, and financial reports by established deadlines

• Ensure each home is properly stocked with food, household goods, emergency supplies, and materials needed to follow approved menus

• Coordinate repairs, maintain vehicle logs, and communicate operational concerns to the appropriate department

Communication & Community Partnership

• Maintain professional relationships with residents, families, guardians, staff, healthcare providers, Waiver Support Coordinators, and community partners

• Represent the residential program professionally at meetings, trainings, agency functions, fundraising events, and community activities

• Use clear verbal and written communication and maintain alternative communication methods, including basic signs, when appropriate

• Attend management, budget development, Clay Safety Net, and Area 4 Family Care Council meetings

• Perform additional duties assigned to support agency and residential program needs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 1 year of experience in a nonprofit human services setting supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership ability

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable 3-year driving record

• Ability to pass required local and Clearinghouse background screenings

• Ability to complete required APD and agency training, including First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration and Validation, HIV/Infection Control, Zero Tolerance, Core Assurances, and person-centered practices

• Ability to travel within the community, transport residents, attend appointments and training, and work a flexible schedule

• Successful completion of the 60-day training period

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 3 years of experience in nonprofit human services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• Experience with Therap, Paycom, iConnect, APD residential standards, Qlarant standards, or related compliance systems

• Experience with group home operations, resident funds, budgets, licensing, and quality assurance

Physical Requirements

This position includes sitting in meetings, traveling to appointments and training sessions, transporting residents, and participating in resident activities. Occasional physical assistance may include pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, stooping, carrying items, and assisting with walkers and wheelchairs.
