About this role
CG Service Pros is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Austin. This is a high-trust field position for a technician who can troubleshoot confidently, communicate clearly, and take ownership of service calls from diagnosis through completion.
Most of the work will involve commercial and multifamily properties. Because you will be our primary service technician, you will also handle occasional residential calls from existing and inbound customers. We are not actively marketing residential service, and this is not a residential sales-focused position.
In this role, you will:
Diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial and residential HVAC systems
Service rooftop units, package units, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and furnaces
Troubleshoot refrigerant, electrical, mechanical, and basic controls issues
Perform preventive maintenance and identify needed repairs
Explain equipment conditions and repair recommendations clearly to customers and property managers
Complete accurate service notes, photos, and equipment documentation
Assist with equipment replacements and startups when needed
Work safely on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, attics, and other service environments
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced technician who wants competitive hourly pay, autonomy in the field, varied technical work, and real support from the office.
At least four years of hands-on HVAC service experience
Meaningful commercial HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
Ability to complete common commercial and residential service calls independently
EPA 608 certification
Current TDLR HVAC technician registration, or the ability to obtain it before starting
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle requirements
Strong customer communication and professional field habits
Basic service tools, including hand tools, a multimeter, and gauges
Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops and attics, and safely handle tools, parts, and equipment
Eligibility to work in the United States
Experience with VRF or VRV systems, building controls, VFDs, commercial refrigeration, or larger commercial equipment is helpful but not required. NATE certification is also a plus, but it is not required.
We care more about your ability to diagnose problems, communicate honestly, and perform quality work than whether you meet every preferred qualification.
$35–$45 per hour, based on experience and ability to run service calls independently
Take-home company truck
Company gas card
Health insurance
Dental insurance
Vision insurance
Dispatch and administrative support so you can focus on fieldwork
A varied mix of commercial, multifamily, and occasional residential service calls
* Autonomy in the field with direct access to company leadership
