TYPE:
Full Time, Hybrid (with an occasional one to two days in-office a month). For candidates located outside the New York metropolitan area, quarterly travel to New York is required to attend conferences and team events.

UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE

Supports the activation of the regional business development plan through targeted outreach, event execution, and relationship stewardship. Team members are responsible for researching, organizing, and advancing BD activity – from developing and maintaining prospect lists to managing communications, convenings, and lead nurturing programs. They ensure that BD strategies translate into consistent, meaningful activity that strengthens CCS’s pipeline and market position. This role partners closely with a regional Marketing team, regional Executive Partnerships team, and a corporate enterprise Growth Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospect List Development & Market Research .
    • Research and maintain up-to-date portfolios for each executive in the region.
    • Monitor philanthropic news, leadership transitions, and industry trends to surface potential new leads.
    • Support segmentation and analysis to identify white space in regional coverage and recommend new relationship-building opportunities.
  • Strategic Outreach Execution
    • Draft and distribute personalized outreach emails, letters, and communications, ensuring consistency with CCS brand and tone.
    • Coordinate pre-/post-conference outreach with corporate enterprise Growth Office and executives, ensuring all follow-ups and introductions are completed.
    • Maintain a running calendar of BD activities, including outreach cycles, campaigns, and events.
  • Events, Councils, and Convenings
    • Support planning and execution of CCS-hosted regional convenings, advisory councils, and stewardship events.
    • Coordinate logistics (venue, invite lists, communications, tracking, and follow-up) and ensure every event contributes to pipeline development.
    • Develop attendee profiles and briefings for executives to support effective networking and outreach during events.
    • Track and analyze event outcomes and leads generated, reporting insights to the BD Lead and leadership team.
  • Lead Nurturing & Relationship Tracking
    • Monitor lead progress (in partnership with Systems team) to flag dormant or promising leads for follow-up.
    • Provide ideas and draft outreach recommendations for re-engagement based on market news, sector trends, or CCS activities.
    • Track BD touchpoints and results across systems and share regular summaries with the BD Lead.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Partner with corporate enterprise Growth Office and regional Marketing team to ensure seamless coordination on campaigns, events, and outreach.
    • Collaborate with Executive Partnerships to align travel outreach and prospect meetings.
  • Tracking, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain current records of BD activity, event participation, and outreach initiatives.
    • Report on outcomes and metrics (meetings, leads generated, stewardship activity) to support regular BD reviews.
    • Recommend opportunities to refine BD systems, outreach templates, and workflow efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales enablement, portfolio management, or a related marketing role.
  • Experience in professional services, management consulting, or similar environment
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with demonstrated credibility partnering with senior leaders
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities; capable of independently structuring time and tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong project leadership and the ability to move several programs forward at once
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative in problem-solving and adapting to changing needs
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a similar marketing automation platform; HubSpot experience is strongly preferred.
  • A collaborative, accountable, and adaptable working style.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of the nonprofit or fundraising sector
  • Experience with Monday.com or a similar work-management platform.

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $90,000
