The Shipping & Receiving Associate will work in the TRP warehouse and shipping areas to support both incoming and outgoing materials and products. General duties include loading and unloading trucks, driving a lift truck, packaging, labeling, maintaining a clean and organized inventory/warehouse, and arranging for transportation. Strong attention to detail is mandatory for proper counts, paperwork, computerized notifications, and complete/accurate documentation.

Job Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Associate will work in the TRP warehouse and shipping areas to support both incoming and outgoing materials and products. General duties include loading and unloading trucks, driving a lift truck, packaging, labeling, maintaining a clean and organized inventory/warehouse, and arranging for transportation. Strong attention to detail is mandatory for proper counts, paperwork, computerized notifications, and complete/accurate documentation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow all corporate policies, including attendance and safety.
  • Verify quantity against supplier paperwork. (i.e. Packing Slip / Bill of Lading)
  • Wrap, label, prepare paperwork and confirm quality testing for all shipments leaving the facility, and transmit ASN (Advanced Shipping Notification) when applicable.
  • Identify, label and store materials in pre-designated areas.
  • Coordination of deliveries, which involves assistance in safely loading/unloading of vehicles.
  • Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.
  • Keep work areas safe/clean at all times including but not limited to: Outside docks, receiving area, all aisles, workstations, excess pallet wrap hanging off skids.
  • Properly inspect and maintain material handling equipment prior to start of shift in accordance with OSHA regulation.
  • Verify inventory through weekly cycle counting.
  • Lifting of ~30 lbs. Unaided from floor to chest frequently.
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions and take action.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: CCL will provide training where needed

  • Previous shipping/receiving experience (domestic/international) preferred
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus notes, UPS World Ship and Fed-Ex Power ship.
  • Minimum of 1 year QAD or equivalent experience preferred.
  • ASN database experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain and record accurate information both manually and electronically.
  • Strong math, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to work in a "TEAM" environment.
  • Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Commitment to perform tasks correctly the first time.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts. (ELS)

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous shipping & receiving experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to drive a lift truck, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Ability to climb a ladder frequently carrying 10 pound boxes
