Summary of responsibilities:

The Advisor, Program Innovation is responsible for leading, planning, developing, and conducting projects to support the development of CATSA’s overall screening program, including pre-board screening, hold-baggage screening, and non-passenger screening. The Advisor, Program Innovation performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  •        Develops and presents status reports for project risks, issues, decisions, and actions.

  •       Develops briefing notes, business cases, project proposals, project charters, trial plans, business cases and assessment reports.

  •       Coordinates project teams comprised of subject matter experts.

What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:

  •        Graduation from a recognized college or university with specialization in Operations Research, Operations Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

  •        A minimum of four (4) years of experience in supporting program management, organizing and preparing a variety of documents and reports.

  •        Experience in analyzing operational performance data to recommend best courses of action.

  •        Superior English language writing skills in business, science, and/or technical writing.

  •        Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

  •        Flexibility, creative problem-solving, innovation.

Valuable skills include:

  •        Project management certification.

  •        Experience working in a government department or Crown Corporation.

  •        Experience in, or knowledge of, air transportation and/or security industries.

  •        Knowledge of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority's (CATSA) mandate, its operating environment, interrelationships with other government and industry stakeholders and SOPs.

  •        Experience in researching, developing and validating assessments/surveys.

  •        Experience using the MS Office suite of software products, including MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.

Specific work requirements:

  •        Language Profile: English Essential;

  •        Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance;
