Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of restrooms, hallways, floors, kitchen, and garbage disposal areas of the Cellar and the Second Floor of the Program site.

Salary: $20.00 per hour, this is a non-exempt hour position based on a 35 hours work week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sweep, mop, wax, and vacuum all floors in Cellar and Second Floor.
  • Responsible for special care instructions for the cleaning of the Myler floor in the ballet dance studio in the Cellar, including making absolutely sure to use the special cleaning liquid required for that floor and the mop and bucket designated specifically for that floor.
  • Move and replace the furniture as necessary.
  • Responsible for storing and maintaining inventory of all cleaning supplies.
  • Responsible for cleaning of floor, sinks, and refrigerator in Second Floor kitchen.
  • Responsible for maintaining constant stock of all toilet tissue, hand soap and hand towels in the restrooms.
  • Responsible for removal of all trash.
  • May be asked to be available to perform these or other tasks during special events.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time position. Works hours are generally between 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion, or to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Bend the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Apply pressure to objects with the fingers and palm.
  • Medium to heavy physical work, exerting from 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions such as: fumes, odors, dust, cleaning solutions, sprays, etc.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience required:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalency.
  • At least one (1) year experience or training in the building trade, maintenance/janitorial field, and performing general repairs.

Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:

  • Must complete CPR and AED training yearly.
