About this role

Caring Transitions of Seattle Central is a locally owned company that helps seniors and families make smooth, stress-free transitions from one living situation to another. We specialize in downsizing, relocation, estate cleanouts, and online or in-person estate sales. Helping seniors and families through transition is rewarding, heart-centered, and impactful. If you're looking for meaningful work, a caring team, and a role that keeps you active and engaged, we'd love to meet you.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • A real break from the screen. This is hands-on, in-person, moving-around work. No desk, no inbox, no sitting still.
  • Flexible, part-time with no minimum or guaranteed hours. Work around your life. Perfect for active retirees, parents with school-aged kids, or anyone wanting rewarding part-time work.
  • Meaningful, purpose-driven work. Every day is different, and you'll walk away knowing you helped a family through a hard transition.
  • A supportive, respectful, fun team. Apply with a friend. We love teammates who work well together.
  • Reentering the workforce after raising kids or soft retirement? Full training provided.
  • Veterans strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Love antiquing, garage sales, thrift stores, or organizing treasures? This is basically that, but you get paid.
  • Passionate about social work or caregiving but craving something more physical? This role channels that same compassion into hands-on, active work with seniors and their families.

What You'll Do

  • Work as part of a small team to help clients downsize, relocate, and liquidate household items.
  • Organize, sort, and pack/unpack items in homes and senior living communities.
  • Research, photograph, and describe items for online auctions and in-person estate sales.
  • Assist customers during auction pickup days and estate sales.
  • Sort items for donation, recycling, and disposal as needed.
  • Follow company standards for safety, professionalism, and client care.

This is NOT a mover role. No moving large furniture or items over 25 pounds.

What You'll Need

  • A genuine care for clients and their families, especially seniors going through a hard transition.
  • Physical stamina. This job has you on your feet most of the shift: standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. If you want a workout built into your workday, this is it.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and work in changing environments.
  • Comfortable working in homes that may be cluttered or dusty (we provide gloves, aprons, masks, etc. when needed).
  • Reliable transportation and smartphone access for scheduling, auction setup, and project tracking.
  • Age 18+ with a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a background check prior to employment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly wage ($21 to $23 based on experience, role, and attendance).
  • Truly flexible part-time schedule with no mandatory or guaranteed hours.
  • Supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Paid training.
  • Career growth opportunities as the business expands.

Our Seattle Central office is a small, growing team where you'll have a direct impact from day one. We believe in kindness, collaboration, and personal growth, with plenty of room to grow as the business expands.
