Bloomington Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal practice that also sees pocket pets, giving you the opportunity for additional case variety without requiring exotic experience.
This isn't a high-volume, high-pressure hospital. You'll have the time, resources, and support to work cases up thoughtfully and practice medicine at a comfortable pace.
You'll work alongside an experienced team that values collaboration and gives doctors the autonomy to manage their cases while having support readily available when needed.

Medical Capabilities & Equipment
You’ll have access to modern diagnostics and treatment tools, including:
- In-house lab equipment (including iStat and coagulation testing)
- Ultrasound
- Digital radiography
- Digital dental radiography
- 5 exam rooms and two treatment areas
- Dedicated surgical suite
We see dogs, cats, and pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats — offering daily variety without requiring exotic specialization.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
