Capital Area Health Network (CAHN) is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support patient care and referral coordination in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance partners, ensuring timely access to specialty care and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and process patient referrals to specialty providers.
Provide support to patients regarding referrals, appointments, and required documentation.
Communicate with provider offices, specialists, and insurance companies to facilitate scheduling and authorizations.
Monitor referral status and follow up to ensure timely completion.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
Send appointment reminders and follow-up communications to patients.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support continuity of care.

Schedule

Monday-Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Occasional extended hours as needed.
On-site position.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required.
Medical office, referral coordination, or healthcare administration experience preferred.
Experience with EHR systems and insurance verification preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
