About this role

Requirements:

Work in a Safe manner, follow safety rules and documents and wear required PPE. Demonstrate the ability to repair Industrial equipment using mechanical skills, welding, troubleshooting, using hand and industrial tools. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, sketches. Ability to use precision tools to measure and calibrate equipment and tools.

Responsibilities:

Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment involved in manufacturing

 Required knowledge of following tools:

  • Drill press
  • Power and hand tools
  • Burning and welding equipment
  • Internal combustion engines
  • Grinder
  • Lift trucks, cranes, man lifts.
  • Fabricating

Knowledge of following material:

  • Plant mechanical equipment, repair parts, lubricants, hardware, packing, wrought steel, hydraulic fittings, hydraulic hoses, tubing and piping.

Knowledge of the following:

  • Welding (stick and MIG) and burning (acetylene and plasma cutting)
  • Hydraulic repair and troubleshooting
  • Fabrication from prints
  • Pneumatic repair and troubleshooting
  • General machine repair and blueprint reading
  • Combustion repair
  • Refractory repair
  • Pipe fitting
  • Heavy rigging

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking or standing 80% of the shift
  • Some lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing required.
  • Work in an Industrial Mill Environment
  • Work in hot and cold environment
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Technical school in related field or Minimum of 5 years on the job experience.
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts and cranes
  • Ability to organize material on machines as scheduled
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts as needed
  • Read micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
