SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is a key member of the accounting team and a partner to the plant leadership. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks with a focus on GL account reconciliations and account analysis. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly journal entries ensuring proper documentation.
- Prepare account analyses, including balance sheet and PL results, with a focus on automating and improving cash reconciliation process.
- Review and analyze the organization's processes and procedures and identify and recommend improvements.
- Maintain fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
- Assist with analysis and preparation of monthly financial statements for timely distribution to management.
- Assist with annual external audits.
- Assist with special projects as requested, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
