Position Summary

C2O Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Lead to support a major LNG facility project in Southern Louisiana. The Instrumentation & Controls Lead will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning, testing, calibration, startup, and operational readiness of instrumentation, control systems, and automation platforms across the facility. This role will work closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient startup and operation of plant control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead instrumentation and controls commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities for assigned project systems and facilities.
  • Develop and execute commissioning procedures, loop check plans, functional testing protocols, cause-and-effect verification, and startup documentation.
  • Coordinate inspection, calibration, testing, and acceptance of field instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, and associated equipment.
  • Manage commissioning and startup activities for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire & Gas Systems (F&G), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and related automation platforms.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure successful system turnover and startup execution.
  • Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, punch list management, and control system optimization during commissioning and startup phases.
  • Participate in readiness reviews, risk assessments, alarm management reviews, and process safety activities.
  • Monitor project progress and provide status reporting, forecasts, and commissioning metrics to project leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with project safety, environmental, quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote adherence to industry standards, best practices, and safe work procedures throughout all commissioning and startup activities.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, or energy infrastructure project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting instrumentation, controls, automation, commissioning, startup, or operations activities.
  • Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, DCS, PLC, ESD, F&G, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience performing loop checks, functional testing, logic validation, and system integration activities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary EPC project environments.
  • LNG project experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale LNG export, petrochemical, or industrial facility projects.
  • Familiarity with major control system platforms such as Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa CENTUM, ABB, Siemens, or Rockwell Automation systems.
  • Knowledge of ISA standards, alarm management, cybersecurity requirements, and process safety systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule objectives.
