About this role
Business Development Manager – Federal Government Contractors
65k annual base plus commission
Since 1996, C2 Essentials has supported federal government contractors with the workforce infrastructure, compliance expertise, benefits, HR resources, and operational support needed to manage and grow their businesses.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager who knows the federal contracting community and can generate and close new business.
This is a full-cycle sales role — not account management or inbound sales.
What You’ll Do
- Generate new business within the federal contractor market
• Build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, relationships, referrals, networking, industry events, and targeted account development
• Develop relationships with CEOs, CFOs, COOs, HR executives, and other decision-makers
• Conduct discovery to understand the prospect’s business, growth plans, workforce challenges, current providers, and risks
• Present C2’s solutions and manage opportunities from initial conversation through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in HubSpot
• Meet or exceed established new-business and revenue goals
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience selling to federal government contractors
• Proven success independently generating qualified pipeline and closing new business
• Experience selling to executive-level decision-makers
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
• Strong prospecting, discovery, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
• Experience managing a sales pipeline through HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM
Strongly preferred: Existing relationships within the federal contracting community and experience selling complex B2B, professional, workforce, compliance, benefits, insurance, consulting, technology, or outsourced business services.
What Success Looks Like
We want someone who creates opportunities rather than waits for them.
The right candidate understands GovCon, can open doors, establish credibility with executives, uncover business needs, and move opportunities toward a decision.
Candidates should be prepared to discuss their previous:
- Sales quotas and attainment
• Revenue personally closed
• Percentage of pipeline personally generated
• Average deal size and sales cycle
• Examples of new accounts personally sourced and closed
C2 Essentials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
