The Role
As a Custom Applicator Lead, you will be responsible for accurately mixing, loading, transporting, and applying chemical solutions—specifically litter amendments and water treatment programs—at customer poultry facilities. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills. The Custom Applicator Lead will be assigned a specific customer and/or region and be the main point of contact with no subordinates. Your responsibilities will include:
Application & Logistics
Safely and accurately apply litter amendments in poultry facilities according to customer specifications and industry standards.
Operate and maintain application equipment, including trucks and specialized machinery, ensuring they are in good working order.
Monitor application rates and adjust equipment settings as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Follows appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP) for mixing, handling, loading, and applying all chemical products including, but not limited to, chlorine-based solutions, acids, pesticides (insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides), and disinfectants.
Deliver exceptional service by being punctual, professional, and responsive to customer inquiries.
Coordinate and schedule application jobs, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely service delivery.
Assist in optimizing routes and schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Track inventory levels of chemical products and support the procurement process as needed.
Act as a point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, scheduling services, and resolving issues.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper handling and application of litter amendments and the operation of heavy equipment.
Personnel required to follow company and customer bio-security and safety protocols. Must be able to wear PPE including, but not limited to, masks, gloves, boot coverings, eye, ear, and face protection.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, application rates, and services provided.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to hazardous materials.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on application equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, addressing any issues promptly.

Key Qualifications
Valid CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required for the position.
High school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years experience as a custom applicator or equivalent experience.
Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) with no preventable accident history.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Working Conditions
Work environments include confined poultry housing, outdoor sites, and warehouse operations.
Exposure to dust, ammonia, chemicals, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
Regular physical activity, including lifting up to 60 lbs., squatting, twisting, and climbing stairs.
