Job Title:       MACHINE OPERATOR
Department:    Manufacturing
Reports To:    Head of Fabrication
 
Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role ensures machines run efficiently, safely, and produce products that meet quality standards. The Machine Operator works closely with production teams to meet daily output goals while minimizing downtime and defects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up machines according to production specifications and ensure proper operation throughout the shift.
  • Operate machinery to manufacture products as per company standards. Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect products during production to ensure quality specifications are met. Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs. Report major mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Record production data, machine settings, downtime, and output for reporting and analysis.
  • Work with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to improve processes and resolve production issues.
  • Must comply with the company’s safety policies.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating manufacturing machinery preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with production tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical instructions (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Physical stamina: ability to stand for long periods, lift materials (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
