About this role

About the Role:

We are adding a Pipefitter to support field operations by performing all aspects of mechanical construction on water and wastewater projects. This role is responsible for installing piping systems, valves, pumps, and related equipment, while working alongside crews to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently in the field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred 
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction experience 
  • At least 2 years of experience specializing in pipefitting 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications 
  • Experience working with pipefitting tools and equipment 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in water or wastewater construction 
  • Experience with above and below ground piping systems 
  • Familiarity with pipe testing procedures and layout work 
  • Experience working on active construction sites with multiple trades 

Responsibilities:

  • Install above ground piping systems, including supports and accessories 
  • Install below ground piping systems while following safe excavation practices 
  • Perform layout, preparation, and assembly of piping systems 
  • Conduct pipe testing and follow proper procedures and safety requirements 
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and work packages to guide installations 
  • Install materials accurately based on layout and specifications 
  • Operate and maintain pipefitting tools and equipment safely and effectively 
  • Work alongside crews to support daily field operations 
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety standards 
  • Coordinate with team members to maintain productivity and workflow

  • Strong understanding of pipe installation, layout, and mechanical systems 
  • Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of construction tools 
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality workmanship 
  • Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team 
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn 
  • Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools and materials 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at varying heights 
  • Ability to bend, squat, and perform repetitive physical tasks 
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
