Position Overview
The Recruitment & Enrollment Coordinator at Rochester Academy of Science Charter School is a key member of the school’s operations and outreach team. This individual serves as the public face of the school, leading recruitment efforts, managing community engagement, and coordinating the full enrollment cycle.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly skilled in communication, and an expert in social media, tech-savvy, and organized. They are comfortable promoting the school both in-person and online, representing the school’s brand with confidence. This 12-month position ensures compliance with charter regulations while building strong, lasting relationships in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment, Outreach & Community Engagement
Serve as the school’s primary ambassador at community events, fairs, and local gatherings.
Build partnerships with daycares, early childhood centers, community organizations, and local businesses.
Conduct school tours, open houses, and informational sessions for prospective families.
Promote the school confidently and professionally in all community interactions.
Identify and pursue new community outreach opportunities that support enrollment goals.
Maintain reliable transportation to travel to outreach sites, events, and partner locations as needed.
Social Media, Communications & Branding
Lead and manage the school’s social media presence, creating engaging content that promotes programs, achievements, and events.
Maintain strong communication skills across all channels—phone, email, social media, and in-person interactions.
Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from families, community partners, and the public.
Support communication campaigns for enrollment deadlines, school events, and outreach initiatives.
Ensure all messaging reflects the school’s brand, mission, and values.
Enrollment Coordination (Avela Knowledge Preferred)
Coordinate the full enrollment process including applications, lotteries, waitlists, and registration.
Use Avela (or similar platforms) to manage applications and maintain accurate enrollment data.
Verify eligibility and collect all required documentation in compliance with state and charter regulations.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in enrollment and student information systems.
Communicate clearly with families about next steps, documentation, and lottery results.
Family Engagement & Support
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective families, providing warm, responsive, and professional communication.
Guide families through application and registration processes with clarity and expertise.
Work with school leadership, operations, and student services teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on enrollment progress and waitlist activity.
Track recruitment data and identify trends that support strategic planning.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and charter authorizer enrollment requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation including residency verification, immunizations, and student records.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
1–2 years of experience in recruitment, enrollment, community outreach, customer service, or school operations (charter experience preferred).
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
Advanced social media skills, including content creation, engagement, and brand representation.
Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly; Avela experience strongly preferred.
Reliable transportation for community outreach and events.
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends during peak enrollment periods.
