Job description work hours 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (8 hrs)
This position is responsible for providing meals for the Food Service at the Buff Sci Middle School at the
Medialle Campus. The Medialle Campus produces daily breakfast, lunches, and snacks for both the
middle and high school students on the Medialle Campus. The Food Service worker preps the daily
meals under the direction of the kitchen manager or Chef. In addition, they will serve the meals and
clean up the kitchen at the end of each day.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have 4 years of Food Service experience in a large cafeteria system
preferred; other relevant work experience will be considered.
Familiarity with Food Service and working in a commercial kitchen.
Able to use basic kitchen equipment including ovens, mixers, knives, and measuring cups.
Attention to detail and punctual work attendance are critical in this role.
Good communication and basic math skills are required.
Primary Duties
Reports to the Head Chef or kitchen manager to ensure the safe production of high-quality food.
Prepares daily food for the kitchen, assists in setting up the meal service, is primarily responsible
for serving meals, and helps clean the facility at the end of the shift.
Additional cleaning duties will be assigned on days that students are not on campus to help
maintain kitchen, coolers, and storage areas to high standards of cleanliness.
Ensure a safe working environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Typical Work Activities
Help plan and produce the daily meals for the middle school kitchen
Set up and serve students from the serving line.
Tear down and clean serving line and equipment at end of day.
Other duties as assigned related to kitchen cleaning and food preparation.
