Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, TX

Schedule: PRN | Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Join our Day Surgery team at Baylor Scott & White Health in Waxahachie! We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality pre-operative and perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.

What You'll Do
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the surgical experience.
Prepare patients for procedures and provide pre-operative education.
Perform IV starts and medication administration.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
Accurately document patient care in Epic.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current RN licensure.
3 to 5 years of RN experience required.
Strong IV insertion and assessment skills.
Epic electronic medical record experience required.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous pre-operative nursing experience.
Flexible and team-oriented approach to patient care.

Job Summary

As a Procedural Registered Nurse, work as a licensed professional using the nursing practice model to oversee patient care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans. Regularly assess patient responses. Contributions help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the system. This prevents complications and delays. Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.

• As a Procedural Registered Nurse, use careful clinical judgment. Assess patients and prioritize their needs. Create and adjust care plans for better results.

Qualifications

• Accredited program or (2) two years minimum, required for this position.
• A major focus or specialization in Nursing.
• Ideally, some relevant professional experience, though less than a (1) one year would suffice.
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
