Qualifications, Duties, PerksAn Average Day
(Includes, but not limited to)
Process and submit Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and patient billing accurately and timely
Verify patient eligibility, payer guidelines, and authorization requirements
Review admissions, discharges, and clinical documentation to ensure billing compliance
Monitor accounts receivable, research denials, and follow up on unpaid claims
Handle Medicare appeals, adjustments, and reimbursement issues
Track and resolve billing errors, bill holds, and payment discrepancies
Maintain Medicare A & B logs and assist with quarterly reporting requirements
Communicate regularly with branch leadership regarding missing documentation and revenue-impacting issues
Serve as a subject matter expert for complex reimbursement and system-related questions
Assist with onboarding and training of new reimbursement team members
Maintain compliance with Medicare regulations, payer requirements, and company policies
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of healthcare billing experience
Minimum 1 year of hospice billing experience
Hospice Medicare billing experience
Experience with authorization and reimbursement processes
Knowledge of HealthCare System software
Strong knowledge of Medicare billing regulations and reimbursement processes
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Typing speed of at least 50 WPM
