About this role

The Senior Manager – Business Operations is role on the Business Operations career path and is a leadership role within the Financial Operations practice. This role supports practice growth by ensuring the successful delivery of client engagements, managing and developing consultants, and leading business development activities. A key component of the role is helping Bridgepoint build and expand relationships with finance executives, private equity firms, and their portfolio companies to identify opportunities to support their businesses.

The Senior Manager – Business Operations provides oversight and leadership across multiple client engagements and delivery team members in order to ensure client success, address challenges, and keep the client and Bridgepoint aligned on our mutually agreed-upon outcomes. This role is designed for experienced professionals who have demonstrated success leading multiple engagements and are seeking continued career growth within Bridgepoint.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are some of the key characteristics to be considered in candidates for the role:

  • Demonstrates skills and judgement to manage the practice’s most challenging clients and projects, both as an individual contributor and a team or engagement lead.

  • Delivers successful projects and solutions, resolves issues, navigates difficult conversations, and builds trusted client relationships.

  • Demonstrates the ability and interest to originate new business by identifying prospective clients, cultivating referral channels, and developing relationships with finance leaders, private equity firms, and their portfolio companies.

  • Identifies resource needs and effectively manages budgets, people, and strategic initiatives.

  • Facilitates the exchange of ideas and opportunities within and across practice areas.

  • Improves performance through innovative thinking, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving.

  • Is recognized internally and externally as a leader in the field.

Responsibilities will include the above as well as:

Client & Engagement Management

  • Manage a portfolio of client engagements, serving as the engagement lead to ensure client and consultant success in executing the agreed-upon scope of work.

  • Manage an annual portfolio of client engagement revenue totaling approximately $3M-$4M and serve as a billable resource on client engagements as needed and as capacity allows.

  • Partner with the Financial Operations PMO to ensure adherence to engagement management processes and standards.

  • Serve as the first point of escalation on all assigned projects for clients and consultants.

  • Lead at least one strategic initiative each year for the local practice or broader firm.

Estimated percentage of time: 30%

Business Development

  • Regularly participate in networking events and other market-facing activities to expand a personal network of prospective clients, private equity contacts, and referral partners and to identify, develop, and grow relationships with private equity firms, including investment professionals, operating partners, and portfolio company executives.

  • Coordinate with Bridgepoint’s private equity business development team to develop account plans, pursue portfolio-wide opportunities, and expand relationships across multiple portfolio companies.

  • Represent Bridgepoint in private equity and M&A networks, industry events, and sponsor-led discussions, and partner with Marketing on relevant messaging and collateral.

  • Participate in new business opportunities by meeting with prospects, assessing needs, defining scope and resource requirements, and developing statements of work and proposals.

  • Identify and convert opportunities to expand current client engagements. Expected annual revenue from expansion of existing projects is greater than $1,000,000.

  • Maintain relationships with former clients and referral partners to generate future opportunities.

  • Achieve the annual new-business revenue goal agreed upon with practice leadership. Expected new-logo revenue is greater than$1M; together with the expansion target above, total annual originated and expanded revenue is expected to exceed $2M.

Consultant Management & Development

  • Manage and support consultants assigned to engagements under management.

  • Provide timely, actionable feedback to support consultant performance, development and engagement.

  • Manage and develop 6-10 direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, performance feedback, and career planning.

  • Partner with internal recruiters to identify and hire qualified consultants to meet the agreed-upon annual market growth plan.

  • Embrace a continuous-learning mindset and lead training and development initiatives.

The mix of responsibilities may fluctuate based on business needs and the maturity of the market.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or financial operations experience.

  • CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred.

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and motivation for personal success.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to executive-level clients, internal leaders, and candidates.

  • Ability to assess a candidate’s experience and qualifications to align them with the appropriate Bridgepoint opportunity or team.

  • Self-starter and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and impeccable integrity.

  • Team-oriented with a desire to support the firm’s strategic initiatives.

  • Existing relationships within the private equity ecosystem or demonstrated success developing senior-level relationships with private equity firms, referral partners, and portfolio company executives, are strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional ability to quickly develop trusted relationships with team members, clients, prospects, referral partners, and candidates.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholder relationships while meeting critical deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

Specific compensation plans will vary depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the office location, role, KPI’s, skill set and level of experience.

  • Base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 – $190,000 USD

  • Annual bonus up to 40% (paid quarterly)
