General Description

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Brake Press Operator is responsible for all aspects of operating the brake press, including fitting and fabricating structural steel, completing layouts, and inspecting finished products.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up forming dies and punches in the press brake
  • Read parts lists, blueprints, and drawings
  • Perform first piece inspection to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
  • Produce quality parts.
  • Be efficient as possible knowing that most parts are one off.
  • Optimize setups and bending sequences to maximize productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Visually check all tooling upon completion of run, note worn or damaged tooling, and report any problems immediately to your supervisor.
  • Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to Company procedures.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards


Qualifications:

  • Must have high character, enthusiasm and desire to meet or exceed the customers’ requirements.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and dependable.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read complex blueprints.
