THE OPPORTUNITY

At Birdwatch, we've reimagined home maintenance to make life easier for homeowners—and by popular demand we're expanding our market westward from the DC metro.

We're looking for skilled residential home service technicians who live in or near Fairfax and Loudoun County and to serves homeowners in those communities.

In this role, you'll become the trusted expert homeowners rely on for repairs, preventative maintenance, and small home improvement projects. While Birdwatch serves the greater DMV region in both the beltway and Annapolis areas, this position is specifically focused on supporting our rapidly growing DC-west homeowner base.

You'll work in a supportive, team-driven environment where your expertise is valued, your growth is encouraged, and your work has a direct impact on the homes and families you serve.

You'll spend most of your time serving homeowners throughout Fairfax and Loudoun County, with occasional opportunities to assist in the broader DC region as needed.

Ensure Birdwatch homeowners enjoy worry-free homeownership by delivering exceptional maintenance, repairs, and small home improvements with professionalism, craftsmanship, and care.

We are here to proactively maintain and protect our clients' homes while providing an outstanding customer experience that builds lasting trust.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?

Success means consistently delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance that exceed homeowner expectations. You'll:

  • Bring hospitality into peoples' homes

  • Build trusted relationships with homeowners

  • Complete most jobs during a single visit

  • Arrive prepared and ready to solve problems

  • Communicate clearly and professionally

  • Keep work organized and documentation current

  • Collaborate with teammates to continuously improve our service

  • Represent Birdwatch's values of safety, honesty, humility, and respect in every interaction

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Several years of home maintenance, handyman, or residential construction experience

  • Experience in higher end homes

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organization and time management

  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative teammate

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience mentoring others is a plus

  • Trade certifications are a plus

  • Comfortable using technology in the field (we'll train you)

  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors

  • Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency calls

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Fairfax and Loudoun County communities, neighborhoods, and roadways

  • Residence in or near Fairfax and Loudoun County, Virginia

  • Experience navigating Northern Virginia efficiently
