Technical Product Manager
About this role
We're looking for a Technical Product Manager to own some of the highest-leverage product bets at Basis end-to-end. You understand the engineering decisions your team is making because you've been close to them before. You'll lead entire product areas — our audit product, our ML agent platform, new verticals we haven't launched yet. You won't be handed a roadmap. You'll create it.
What you'll do
Own product strategy and execution for one or more major Basis product areas, from identifying the right problems to shipping production-grade solutions
Translate customer needs and accounting workflows into detailed specs, agent behaviors, and product primitives engineers can build on
Work directly with ML engineers, prompt architects, and accounting experts to define what our agents do, how they behave, and when they hand off to humans
Prototype ideas, run small experiments, put something in front of users before the engineering sprint begins
Make prioritization calls with real tradeoffs: technical complexity, model performance, customer value, and revenue impact
What we're looking for
Track record of launching technical B2B SaaS or AI products.
First principles thinker
Builder mindset
Intellectually curious
Company at a glance
Basis is a New York-based AI company that develops intelligent agents for accounting, enabling accountants to automate complex tasks like journal entries, reconciliations, and tax workbooks.
What happens next
Skip the application pile. I get you in front of the people who decide.
Confirm the fit
A few questions to make sure this role is the right shape for you. Two minutes.
I pitch you to the company
I write the intro, send it to the founder, and handle the back-and-forth.
A meeting lands on your calendar
When the company wants to meet, I get the call on your calendar. You just show up.
Culture & values
Fully in-person team with shared love of solving hard problems using whiteboards
Core belief that agents would become integral to knowledge work
Focus on massively ambitious projects
Know someone who'd be great for this?
