About this role

Basis is seeking a forward-thinking Member of Technical Staff - Product Engineering to own and shape the product experience, aligning customer value with engineering execution. You’ll work with an ambitious team to prioritize features, drive the roadmap, and push the product forward in the era of AI-powered software. This role centers on delivering impactful, future-focused human–software interaction beyond a traditional chatbot.

What youll do

  • Own the vision for all products built by Basis.
  • Architect front-end and APIs to work in tandem.
  • Build opinions on the right ways to solve customer needs.

What Basis is looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in full-stack product engineering roles.
  • Experience with product-led development and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript; Expertise in at least one full-stack language (Python, React, TypeScript).
  • Experience with AI and LLM-integrated products.
  • Experience as a software engineer at a startup (Series A-D) or quantitative hedge fund.
  • Experience scaling applications and teams.
  • Demonstrated career progression and mentoring experience.
  • Adaptability and ability to select appropriate tools for the job.
  • Strong CS fundamentals.
  • Experience with product management activities including gathering user feedback and iteration.
