- Work directly with engineers, technicians, operations personnel, and other stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and process challenges.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
- Determine effective methods for collecting and measuring operational and process data.
- Develop data-driven recommendations and solutions to address identified problems.
- Assist with workflow analysis, process mapping, capacity planning, resource utilization, and other industrial engineering activities.
- Develop metrics and methods for measuring process performance and the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
- Support the implementation of process improvements, controls, and standardized practices.
- Assist with improving the flow of materials, information, documentation, and work through engineering and operational processes.
- Develop reports, presentations, process documentation, and other materials to clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
- Monitor implemented changes and analyze results to determine effectiveness and identify opportunities for further improvement.
- Manage assigned projects and activities against established schedules and objectives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, and other functional areas.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of assigned projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers, technicians, operations personnel, and other team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with process improvement, workflow analysis, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, or statistical analysis tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace or defense applications.
- Experience developing process maps, procedures, metrics, or other operational documentation.
- Previous internship, research, project team, or other relevant technical experience.
This is a paid internship opportunity with both full-time and part-time schedules available. Summer interns typically work full-time, with opportunities for part-time work during the academic year based on business needs and intern availability. Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's academic schedule.
The internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real aerospace and defense engineering programs and may provide a pathway to future employment opportunities with Bascom Hunter.
