About the role:
Reports to the Fund Accounting Manager
This highly numerical position will be working with an established team in our US office, who service Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Private Credit products for both mid-market and institutional clients.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated candidate to make a significant impact to our growing US business and to work with a growing and dynamic team.
Key responsibilities:
• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the accurate preparation of equalisation and carry calculations
•Preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP (and perhaps other reporting standards such as IFRS and UK/Lux GAAP).
- Interpret and apply more complex LPA (Limited Partnership Agreement) requirements to accounting processes
•Researching accounting guidance as necessary to ensure correct recording of complex transactions
• Provide assistance with completion of more complex audit queries
• Take an increasing lead in regular client calls and correspondence
•Managing client relationships including responding to client requests
•Preparation of investor reporting including calculations of investor and fund performance.
•Participating in office wide projects that focus on improving efficiency or enhancing internal controls
•Working with technology team on testing of new system functionality or reports
• Undertake soft reviews of the work produced by more junior team members - Ensure Aztec internal control frameworks are followed in full
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
•Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
•CPA accreditation is highly advantageous
•Experience of using Yardi, eFront or Investran is preferrable
•3+ years previous experience in Fund Accounting or Auditing, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator)
•Sound technical knowledge of US GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sectors
•Computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential
•Excellent collaboration skills and passionate team player
•Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
•Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude
