About this role

PURPOSE

Installation of main and secondary equipment into the vessels. Alignment of equipment and drivelines to tolerance.

Reporting to and taking direction from the Production Supervisor-Engineering, the Tradesperson-Mechanical Fitter is responsible for working with a team of employees to achieve minimum production time and maximum quality whilst maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience in shipbuilding Industry.
  • At least high school or technical/vocational school graduate.

Desirable

  • Shaft alignment knowledge
  • Machine shop knowledge
  • Leadership experience
  • Computer literacy if any
  • Strong communication skills
  • Preferably has experience in operating laser alignment equipment.
