1. PURPOSE: 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and repairs of all equipment with a strong

emphasis on preventative maintenance.


2. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Qual-

ity (HACCP & SQF) programs to their immediate supervisor.

· Responsible for inspection, diagnosis and repair of all plant equipment.

· Knowledge of PLC, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration systems and process technology.

· Diagnose and repair computerized control systems, including HVAC. Weld, fabricate, and assemble parts for indus-

trial equipment.

· General shop and building maintenance and repairs and maintain all associated records and inventory.

· Provide assistance to other team members in the performance of equipment repairs.

· Other tasks as scheduled and assigned by Shift Lead.


3. OTHER REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Participate in training fellow maintenance team members and other plant employees.

· Ensure open communications with all team members to allow for work place effectiveness.

· Maintain professionalism in handling work situations.

· Work with immediate supervisor on any specific/required skill development.

· Maintain work areas in accordance with established standards, i.e., GMP, SQF requirements.

· Works safely and complies with all aspects of the AOD Employee Safety Manual.

5. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years’ associates/technical degree preferred.

· Experience with high-speed packaging equipment.

· Education and/or experience supporting industrial networking.

· Education and/or experience supporting Rockwell Automation, PLCs and VFDs.

· Education and/or experience programming or altering programs in PLCs, HMI, VFD, RSlinx.

· Education and/or experience installing and calibrating industrial sensors, meters, level, temperature, PH and flow.

· Good communication skills with a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task.

· Ability to utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects

and repairs.


6. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to regularly stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch

or crawl around equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

· Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, often in wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level requires hearing

protection.

· Must be comfortable working at heights.

· Must have ability to work nights and weekends.

· Must be comfortable working with electrical equipment and high-speed packaging equipment.


7. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in a food manufacturing facility producing refrigerated dairy products. The work environment includes

frequent exposure to cold and wet conditions, including refrigerated areas where temperatures may reach 34°F. The

production floor involves elevated noise levels from processing equipment, requiring hearing protection in designated areas.

Employees are required to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

requirements, and strict food safety and sanitation protocols at all times. This role may require working in areas where food-

grade chemicals, sanitizers, and cleaning agents are in use. Work surfaces and floors may be wet or slippery. This position

operates in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive production demands.
