The Community Living Leader is a critical member of our ministry by providing leadership to Community Living Assistants (CLA’s) and clients.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provides oversight and direction to all Community Living Assistants by providing supervision, guidance, training, accountability and performance management
Plans utilization of team, assign duties, and serves as back-up during absence of Community Living Assistants
Prepares monthly schedule for team members, ensuring adequate shift coverage
Develops and updates manuals for documentation of community living guidelines, policies, procedures, and Community Living Assistant responsibilities
Develops goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish community living-related job duties
Resolves conflict and provides resolution for clients
Tracks bed count, bed assignments, and bed movement of clients
Coordinates and manages communication between clients and team members and follow up to ensure complete service delivery
Works closely with Client Support Services team to ensure cleanliness of facility, safety and security precautions are followed, and any other facility items related to community living
Works directly with Volunteer/Partnerships Coordinators in implementation of volunteer services
Prepares monthly statistical and narrative reports
Assists with the public relations/marketing/development teams by leading in-house tours

Position Requirements
1-3 years of supervisory experience
Proven experience supervising and scheduling frontline staff in a residential or shelter environment
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and conflict resolution practices
Ability to lead and motivate a team while holding staff accountable to expectations
Skilled in crisis management, problem-solving, and maintaining a safe, respectful community living environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing staff, clients, and cross-functional coordination
Proficient in documenting policies, procedures, reports, and shift schedules with accuracy
Comfortable collaborating with volunteers, facilities teams, and development staff
Flexible, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Ability to represent the organization professionally during facility tours and public engagement
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking and sitting)
Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50lbs
Special Requirements
The Community Living Leader position is classified as an Essential Role. Employees in this role are expected to be available to work on-site during emergencies, including but not limited to public health crises, severe weather events, or government-mandated actions. Work schedules and responsibilities may be adjusted based on organizational needs, which may include occasional overnight shifts to ensure the safety and continuity of shelter operations.
