STR Silver Pines is a medical detox and residential treatment program in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, offering around-the-clock clinical support for adults navigating substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and primary mental health conditions. How You Will Make A Difference

The LPN/RN is responsible to ensure that the daily operations of the Detox Unit are maintained to promote quality care to clients through assessment, medication management and direct client care. All staff are required to treat clients with respect and dignity.

Position Responsibilities

Deliver quality client care through assessment, monitoring and communicating observations and findings with physicians and other members of the treatment team
Assist in the identification of medical, emotional, and social needs of the client throughout the detox and at times, residential treatment
Assess medical and psychological problems and report significant findings to the physician, physician assistant and client counselor.
Complete initial medical and nutritional assessment, chemical dependency, and suicide history along with charting patient care
Assist in the performing/monitoring/administration of client medications
Promote restoration of health, client and family education and serve as a client advocate
Administer TB testing to clients and staff in accordance with PA Department of Health
Maintain and adhere to established infection control measures
Demonstrate respect toward clients at the same time being firm and direct, supporting them with their personal goals and development
Provide appropriate education to staff and client in the treatment program
Maintain compliance with all program policies and procedures as well as all state and accreditation standards.
Work with multi-disciplinary team to discuss, assess and resolve client issues while also working independently.
Coordinate emergency medical care for medical and psychiatric emergencies
Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by Physician Assistant or Executive Director

QualificationsWhat We're Seeking

Education and Experience

High school diploma/GED equivalent
Completion of LPN program or Associate/Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Current PA state licensure
Basic Life Support certification
Strong organizational skills, detail orientated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and multi-task
Familiar with Pennsylvania Licensure Bill of Patient Rights
Physical demands

Ability to sit, use hands and arms to reach, handle and feel
Occasionally need to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel
Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
