About this role

We are looking for a Senior Event Marketing Manager with 5-7 years of experience to own the strategy, planning, and execution of third-party conferences and large-scale customer events at Assort Health. You'll be the first dedicated event marketing IC on a newly formed team, reporting to our Head of Events & Field Marketing, and will play a critical role in building the event program that drives pipeline and brand awareness across the healthcare industry. Assort has 100+ events lined up this year, a massive marketing budget backed by a $76M Series B, and 15× revenue growth since Q4 2024 — this is a chance to build something from the ground up at one of the fastest-growing AI companies in healthtech.

What will you be doing?

Own end-to-end planning and execution of third-party conferences, trade shows, and large-scale customer events with a national/global scope

Build and scale the event marketing program from an existing foundation — establishing in-house processes, playbooks, and best practices as the first IC hire on the events team

Drive measurable pipeline impact by tying event strategy to revenue outcomes and maintaining strong reporting on event ROI

Collaborate closely with sales to manage pre-event bookings, post-event follow-ups, and feedback loops that keep pipeline accountable

Travel frequently to execute events on-site and represent Assort Health at major healthcare industry conferences

----

Days 1–30

Listen, Learn & Audit

Build the foundation — understand the business, map the landscape, earn trust

Orientation & Relationships

Schedule 1:1s with Sales, SDR, Brand, Content, and CS leaders to understand their event pain points and expectations

Shadow 2–3 active sales cycles and SDR outreach sequences to understand ICP language and buying triggers

Review existing CRM data (Salesforce/HubSpot) to understand which events have historically touched pipeline

Identify the top 5–10 conferences per vertical and map them against Assort's specialty expansion roadmap

Audit & Inventory

Audit all past event investments: booth costs, attendance, meetings sourced, pipeline influenced, and CAC contribution

Review existing event contracts, vendor relationships, and any committed FY sponsorships

Assess current brand assets — booth materials, collateral, swag — for quality and consistency

Document gaps in post-event follow-up process and lead capture workflow

Days 31–60

Build the Machine

Launch systems, activate the first events, establish repeatable playbooks

Program Infrastructure

Finalize and socialize the FY event calendar with Sales leadership — align on tier-1 vs tier-2 conferences by vertical priority

Build the event management playbook: master checklist, vendor briefing templates, staffing plan framework, and onsite runbook

Establish a pre-event outreach SOP with SDR and Sales — target lists, sequencing, meeting booking workflow, and deadlines

Design post-event follow-up playbook: lead capture via badge scan or form, enrichment steps, CRM routing, and SLA for Sales follow-up

First Events & Owned Programs

Execute first conference presence end-to-end using the new playbook — apply learnings immediately

Plan and host the first owned event (executive dinner or roundtable) for a target vertical — test format, invite strategy, and facilitation approach

Begin scoping Assort Ascend: format, date, venue options, speaker strategy, and success KPIs

Analytics & Reporting

Build the event ROI dashboard in Salesforce/HubSpot: meetings held, pipeline sourced, cost per opportunity, and CAC contribution

Deliver first post-event report with full debrief and a "3 things we're changing next time" section

Days 61–90

Optimize for ROI, expand the program, and establish Assort as the definitive presence in AI-powered patient access

Optimization & Scale

Run a full program retrospective: use ROI data to rationalize the event calendar — cut underperforming sponsorships, double down on high-CAC-efficiency events

Introduce a vertical-specific event strategy for the top 3 specialty expansion targets — identify niche conferences and community events Sales doesn't yet know

Launch a recurring roadshow format (city-by-city or virtual) to extend reach between major conferences

Assort Ascend & Owned Events

Lock venue, date, and speaker lineup for Assort Ascend; kick off invitations to customers, prospects, and strategic partners

Run 2–3 more owned events (roundtables, dinners) across different verticals; iterate on the format based on conversion data from the first event

Establish a customer advisory board dinner cadence to deepen strategic relationships and generate reference pipeline

Cross-functional Partnership

Present quarterly event strategy review to leadership: pipeline influenced, cost per opportunity, and recommended Q+1 investments

Collaborate with Brand/Content on a category-building content series tied to event themes — position Assort as the thought leader, not just the booth

Establish a joint event scorecard with Sales: agreed definitions of "event-sourced pipeline" to ensure shared accountability
