JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the strategic sourcing of qualified vendors, negotiating both annual agreements and one-time deals, executing purchase orders, and building and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) pricing
  • Manage sourcing for commodities including Machined and Fabricated Parts, Electrical Components, Pumps, Enclosures, Power Transmission Parts, Heat Exchangers, and other commercial-type parts
  • Build a qualified vendor base while continually expanding industry expertise
  • Conduct supplier prequalification and surveillance audits
  • Ensure on-time delivery of parts to support production, including management of the open purchase order report
  • Manage freight agreements for parcel, FTL, and LTL carriers, including scheduling truck shipments from the Mason, Ohio facility with selected carriers
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Attend weekly production meetings
  • Serve as the purchasing point of contact for assigned business divisions
  • Oversee supply chain and purchase order management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager
 
COMPETENCIES / POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-year degree in a relevant field (Business, Engineering, Supply Chain) preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with mechanical drawings
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, detail-oriented, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently
