In this role, you'll work with aluminum and other metals to fabricate, fit, and weld components that meet exact specifications while collaborating with a team committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

As an Aluminum Welder, you will:

  • Set up, lay out, fit, tack, and weld aluminum components according to blueprints and specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum materials in horizontal and vertical positions
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy by squaring, aligning, and maintaining proper weldment geometry
  • Prepare and inspect materials prior to welding, including edge preparation and fit-up
  • Complete grinding, finishing, and cosmetic weld cleanup as required
  • Inspect completed weldments to verify compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications
  • Safely move parts and assemblies using approved material-handling equipment
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high levels of workmanship and safety
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure successful project completion

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven aluminum MIG and/or TIG welding experience
  • Ability to pass aluminum welding qualification tests (vertical down and horizontal positions)
  • Strong blueprint-reading and weld symbol interpretation skills
  • Experience with fabrication, fit-up, and weldment assembly
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and maintain dimensional accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must provide and maintain required personal hand tools
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Familiarity with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding processes

Equipment You'll Use

  • Aluminum MIG and TIG welding equipment
  • Angle grinders (4.5" and 7.5")
  • Plasma cutters
  • Oxy-fuel cutting equipment
  • Clamps, fixtures, and fabrication tools
  • Overhead cranes and material-handling equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Push, pull, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements
  • Demonstrate strong manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment
