About this role

Job Overview:

The technician will have the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, test, repair, calibrate and rework select items from at least one of the following: Radiation detection, water quality, optical survey, communications, air monitoring instrumentation using principles and knowledge of industry standards, engineering practice, and OEM manuals. The position is essential to the success of APTIM projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Test, service and calibrate electronic, electrical, and optical components, accessories, assemblies, other hardware and systems.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repair with capabilities and the ability to work on unique equipment with product information
  • Perform quality inspections of equipment to verify: functionality, appearance, branding, and accessories are complete.
  • Work according to prescribed procedures and specifications.
  • Assist in the development of related methods, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation. Input to database as required.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities and workspaces environment to adhere to conditions appropriate to a professional facility and APTIM standards.
  • Identify parts necessary to maintain inventory and perform routine repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records to document equipment functionality, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Provide technical support as required using the best available and most effective technology
  • Take and fill equipment fleet orders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Ability to deliver high quality efficiently and expeditiously.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Proficient with calibrators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and all other equipment needed for general purpose calibrations
  • Specific skills/certifications/specialty for this job: Military Training or Associates Degree in electrical or electronic field or other related science with 1-2 years of technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience required.
  • Commercial or military laboratory experience preferred
  • Established track record of excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read manuals and have computer skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft products (MS Word, Excel)

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $25- $33 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
