About this role

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer supporting Space Operations Command (SpOC) Space Acquisition Management – Directorate (SAM-D) to provide immediate High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) subject matter expertise, radar and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) expertise across three key lanes of the US Space Force HEMP Enterprise program.

 

This position is located at Peterson Space Force Base/Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Review Project/Program Management documentation and advise SpOC SAM-D/PM on concepts and methodologies for plan, design, schedule, execution, and resources for HEMP Programs and Projects.
    • This includes Hardness Management / Hardness Surveillance (HM/HS), Project Schedules, Risk Management, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Test Plans, Program Management Directives, test resource plans, Air Force Directives, Policy/Guidance Documents and Memos, and other applicable documents
  • Assist with development and delivering HEMP modification concepts, implementation plans; assess new HEMP products and requirements; and provide recommendations to SpOC SAM-D/PM.
  • Conduct analysis for the development and maintenance of SpOC SAM-D/PM technical requirements documents (both paper and digital) and provide recommendations to SpOC SAM-D/PM.
  • Perform technical review and assessment of functionality, risk, cost, sustainability and schedule of proposed architectures, plans, and specifications of current and future HEMP capabilities for SpOC SAM-D/PM approval
  • Perform technical assessments for new construction or facility modification activities related to the HEMP program in the form of white papers, trip reports, or emails for SpOC SAM-D/PM approval.
  • Perform engineering assessment of Electromagnetic (EM) testing and analysis (HEMP Test Reports).
  • Perform engineering assessment of Radio Frequency/Electromagnetic (RF/EM) Test system design and development
  • Provide engineering analysis of Software tool solutions including MathCAD, Agilent basic/AgilentVee for HEMP test capability

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret with SCI EligibilityEducation: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringYears of Experience: 5+ years of experience as a system EngineerAdditional Experience:

  • Experience in examining project plans and designs, HEMP technical data including frequency authorizations, test plans and reports.
  • Experience reviewing MIL-STD and USSTRATCOM directives and applied those to HEMP HM/HS, upgrade, and construction projects.
  • Experience interacting with SpOC SAM-D / HEMP PMO HEMP protected personnel and facilities.They must have acquisition experience.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
