About this role

APM Terminals

Electrical Package Lead

North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven (NTB) Transformation Project

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.
APM Terminals and Eurogate have entered into an agreement for a long-term partnership to invest approximately €1 billion in the modernisation of the North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven, subject to relevant approvals. The transformation is expected to include significant investment in equipment, infrastructure and systems, alongside the integration of the terminal into the APM Terminals global network.

Electrification and renewable energy will be central to the project, supporting the ambition to operate with zero greenhouse gas emissions. As Electrical Package Lead, you will help deliver the electrical infrastructure required to create an efficient, resilient and future-ready terminal.

Location: Bremerhaven, Germany

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical scope of the NTB modernisation project, ensuring delivery in line with agreed safety, quality, schedule, budget and performance objectives.

  • Drive electrical design through consultants and review designs, specifications, method statements and risk assessments against APM Terminals and legal standards.

  • Support procurement across execution contracts and align electrical equipment specifications with terminal, regulatory and workforce requirements.

  • Manage the delivery of terminal substations and high-voltage infrastructure through design, procurement, installation, commissioning and integration testing.

  • Direct electrical vendors, consultants and contractors, monitoring progress and addressing technical issues, delays, risks, changes and dependencies.

  • Implement project controls, track performance against the approved baseline and recommend corrective or mitigating actions when required.

  • Demonstrate visible HSSE leadership on site and monitor contractor and designer compliance in cooperation with the project HSSE team.

What We Are Looking For

  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering.

  • At least five to seven years of experience in electrical engineering design, procurement and delivery within large-scale infrastructure, heavy industrial or container terminal projects.

  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage substations, transformers, control systems and associated industrial infrastructure architecture.

  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical work packages across multiple contracts and managing vendors, design consultants and contractors.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, organisational levels and culturally diverse environments.
