Opportunity for a 2nd Shift Group Lead in the Fabrication/Welding work cell at our Jonesboro, AR facility. The work schedule is 2nd shift Monday through Thursday 4:30 PM to 3 AM daily.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation while providing technical support to associates in given work area(s).
  • Work with production supervisors to carry out production plans by setting priorities.
  • Report to production supervisors or appropriate members of management regarding associate issues.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve issues or conflicts.
  • Ensure proper training, coaching, and feedback to new employees.
  • Assess, identify, and address training opportunities, including job skills training and goal setting.
  • Facilitate effective team meetings.
  • Submit work orders when needed.
  • Responsible for following safety/regulatory policies and procedures, as well as reporting safety/regulatory concerns to the Production, Safety, or Quality Manager.
  • Willingness to help as an operator in work area.
  • Ability to understand, review, and speak about the Daily Production Board.
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as required.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-year related work experience.
  • Strong leadership/communication/people skills.
  • Solid mechanical ability.
  • In-depth understanding of the business and production workflow.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for 8 hours, if necessary.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and/or materials.
