About the Role
As Founding Full Stack Engineer at Aonic, you'll own the entire engineering function across our consumer membership platform, internal operations, and data infrastructure. Your first priority is launching the Aonic Club membership MVP on Shopify + Recharge by October 1st, then expanding to our React Native consumer app, LLM-powered agents, and compliance tooling. This role demands maximum ownership and is built for an engineer who has already shipped consumer products and thrives in ambiguity.
What You'll Do
- Build and launch the Aonic Club web application on Shopify + Recharge, then own ongoing maintenance and improvements.
- Optimize page speed, app performance, and third-party integrations across the storefront to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Maintain compliance with privacy regulations (CPRA and similar) by managing tracking, consent tools, and data handling.
- Make architectural decisions around engineering stack, security, databases, and vendor partnerships.
- Lead development of our React Native consumer app from the ground up, prioritizing iOS.
- Build LLM-powered agents and internal tools that run unattended in production with proper monitoring, evals, and human-in-the-loop safeguards.
- Create internal tools, scripts, and workflows that automate manual work and reduce friction across all functions.
- Work directly with leadership to solve high-priority problems and move fluidly between product and infrastructure decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, math, or equivalent demonstrated experience shipping software products.
- Proven track record shipping consumer products in production as an engineer.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and either Python or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and Recharge platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise building and shipping web applications with strong performance optimization.
- Experience building consumer-facing React Native apps, ideally iOS-first.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools and automation frameworks.
- Comfort making architectural and security decisions with minimal guidance.
