Founding Engineer - Applied AI

As one of Antes' first technical hires, you will build the core automation engine powering AI hardware systems for complex manufacturers. Backed by General Catalyst, Kleiner Perkins, and the parent company of Ferrari, the team partners with iconic automotive, aerospace, and industrial leaders to solve mission-critical challenges at the intersection of AI, hardware, and policy. This role offers outsized ownership and impact, requiring you to own systems end-to-end in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

What you'll do

• Design and implement core workflows and infrastructure for hardware engineering agents, including intelligent context management, novel indexing, and post-training systems.
• Build AI agents and ML models that interpret, reason over, and manipulate complex engineering design data within enterprise-grade toolchains.
• Collaborate directly with customers and the engineering team to deliver reliable, intuitive AI workflows trusted in production.
• Prototype rapidly, validate ideas with real users, and ship frequently from concept to deployment.
• Shape early engineering culture, architectural decisions, and the product roadmap as a foundational team member.

What Antes is looking for

• Strong CS or ML fundamentals and deep familiarity with LLM architectures and agent research trends.
• Excellent programming skills and hands-on experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, and Weights & Biases.
• Proven track record of building production ML or AI systems, with practical experience in search and information retrieval.
• A builder mindset with the ability to move fast from idea to production and a genuine care for customer experience.
• 2+ years of experience in applied machine learning, backend engineering, or AI infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience working with geometric data, CAD systems, or high-impact AI research is a plus.
