About this role

The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built - up material from surfaces.
  • Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.
  • Load and unload the blast cabinet.
  • Assist with painting or coating as needed.
  • Apply and remove non - skid materials as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Previous sandblasting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a current C-7 certification
  • Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance
  • Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.
  • Familiarity with power tools

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times
  • Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises.
