About this role
The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built - up material from surfaces.
- Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.
- Load and unload the blast cabinet.
- Assist with painting or coating as needed.
- Apply and remove non - skid materials as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Previous sandblasting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a current C-7 certification
- Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance
- Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.
- Familiarity with power tools

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises.
