Position Summary

APE is hiring a Logistics & Freight Specialist in Conroe, Texas, to coordinate domestic and international freight across our operations.

This position coordinates standard, heavy-haul, oversized, and international freight; manages related purchase orders and documentation; and works with billing and branch teams to resolve freight issues. Practical trucking and freight experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Book and coordinate domestic and international freight, including heavy equipment and oversized loads
Select carriers and brokers, obtain quotes, and negotiate freight rates
Confirm equipment requirements, routing, permits, and delivery details
Create, track, and reconcile freight purchase orders and accounts
Work with billing and accounting to resolve billed, unbilled, or incorrectly charged freight
Coordinate transportation of down or out-of-service equipment between branches, customers, and repair facilities
Track shipments and communicate delays, changes, and delivery issues
Maintain accurate freight records in company systems
Prepare reports identifying freight costs, recurring equipment moves, and branch-level trends
Support cross-border shipments and maintain awareness of applicable tariffs and documentation requirements

QualificationsQualifications

At least five years of freight, trucking, dispatch, logistics, or related experience
Strong working knowledge of carriers, brokers, truck and trailer types, load requirements, permitting, and freight booking
Experience coordinating heavy-haul or oversized loads strongly preferred
Comfortable communicating directly with carriers, brokers, drivers, customers, and internal teams
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive shipments
Clear and professional written and verbal communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

ERP or transportation management system experience preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to work full-time on-site in Conroe, Texas
