American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 400+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rd Shift Packaging Machine Operator role in our Circleville, OH facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- PRODUCTION
- Operate baler in a safe and efficient manner producing packaged materials for our customers
- Confer with shift supervisor and follows through with assigned work duties
- Assist in cleaning up work area
- SHIPPING
- May operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner while loading trucks with packaged material
- May also be required to load AWF and customer trailers
- May be asked to complete paperwork for shipping
- Perform inspection of product and rework damaged or non-conforming product as needed
- QUALITY
- Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, truck drivers, office personnel, and customers
- Assist in the design and implementation of new procedures as needed
- SAFETY
- Attend monthly safety meetings
- Wear required PPE
- Attend safety trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
- Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- Ability to work in extreme weather
- Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
- Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
- Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment

Manufacturing: 1 Year (Preferred)
