Founding Engineer/Tech Lead
About this role
We are looking for a Founding Engineer with 3-8 years of experience to join as the technical co-pilot to the CEO at Ambra, an AI company automating how ambulance agencies get paid by insurance. This is a path-to-CTO role, you'll own customers end-to-end, ship fast with AI-native tooling, and help build the engineering culture from the ground up as the company closes its first $1M+ ARR contract.
What will you be doing?
Own entire customer accounts — from feature rollouts to forward-deployed engineering work
Build backend systems that stitch together data, integrations, and browser automations to automate insurance billing workflows
Ship production code at high velocity using AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude, RALPH loops)
Talk directly to billers, fire chiefs, and ops leaders to translate their needs into product
Architect scalable infrastructure as the company onboards its largest contracts (top 3 EMS agencies in the US)
