Altruix is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to provide as-needed coverage and support pharmacy operations at our Salisbury, MD location based on business needs. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and compliant review and dispensing of medications while maintaining high standards of patient care. The PRN Pharmacist will evaluate medication orders, monitor for potential interactions, support decision-making, and collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Compensation: For this role ranges from $58.00 to $61.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. This is an as-needed (PRN) schedule. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on business needs, operational demands, site requirements, and the pharmacist’s availability. Workdays and hours may fluctuate and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Review & Dispensing:
- Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, and potential interactions
- Maintain the patient database to include current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication
- Ensure that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated, and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare team
Compliance & Operations:
- Obtain, as necessary, and maintain all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and company policy
- Inform the Pharmacist in Charge of medication-related errors
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required
- Licensed Pharmacist listed by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
- Knowledge of principles related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices
- Two years' experience as a pharmacist preferred; long-term care pharmacy preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Detail-oriented, goal-oriented team player with strong oral communication skills
- A combination of comprehensive therapeutic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and judgment
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and apply current standards of pharmacy practice
- Ability to master computer and software applications necessary for completing job tasks
- Ability to manage multiple workloads at once and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable and responsive for PRN scheduling needs and coverage
- Adaptable and able to step into different workflows and environments
