Altruix is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Long-Term Care pharmacy in Uniontown, PA. This is a full-time, onsite position. You will serve as an important point of contact for assigned facilities while supporting prescription processing, data entry, medication fulfillment, packaging, inventory, and other day-to-day pharmacy operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Entry & Facility Coordination:

  • Input patient information and medication orders into the pharmacy system to produce prescription labels
  • Process new prescriptions received from assigned facilities
  • Maintain and update resident profiles, including new prescriptions, refill orders, and discontinued medications
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned facilities and coordinate with other pharmacy departments as needed
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain open communication with assigned facilities and physicians to resolve questions or obtain necessary clarification
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with pharmacy-related questions


Fulfillment, Packaging & Inventory:

  • Fill prescription items as permitted by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy and package medications for dispensing and delivery
  • Label medications appropriately, including cautionary and auxiliary labels
  • Support medication fulfillment while maintaining pharmacy standards for accuracy and productivity
  • Assist with periodic pharmacy inventory
  • Process medications returned from facilities for credit or destruction
  • Follow established procedures when processing new prescriptions and ensure required information is complete
  • Escalate concerns or discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager as appropriate
  • Assist other Pharmacy Technicians and support the training of new team members as needed
  • Perform additional pharmacy duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy and customer service setting
  • Ability to operate a computer and learn pharmacy systems
  • Ability to recognize and identify medications
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to accuracy and ability to work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
  • Ability to meet all applicable Pennsylvania requirements for working as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Specialty or long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy software; QS1/PrimeRx experience preferred
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
  • Experience with prescription data entry, medication fulfillment, packaging, inventory, or pharmacy production preferred
