About this role

When a debit card stops working, Zelle® acts up, or an online banking update creates a new problem, someone has to figure out what’s happening and get members moving again.

As a Digital & Cards Specialist at Air Academy Credit Union in Colorado Springs, you’ll help members and employees troubleshoot digital banking, debit card and credit card issues, dig into problems to find the root cause, and help make our digital services work better.

You’ll also play an important role when systems change. You’ll test upgrades and fixes, spot potential issues, share what you learn with other teams, and help make sure employees have the information they need to support members.

If you’re the kind of person who wants to know why something isn’t working and enjoys finding the answer, this could be a great next step.

What You’ll Do

  • Become a go-to resource for digital banking and card services, helping members and employees troubleshoot online banking, mobile banking, payments, debit cards, credit cards, Zelle®, and related systems.
  • Dig into digital banking and card issues to identify root causes, resolve problems when possible, and escalate or report issues when additional support is needed.
  • Test system upgrades, fixes, and functionality, document what you find, and coordinate with other testers to gather feedback before and after changes are released.
  • Work closely with Branches and the Contact Center to identify recurring service issues, common member questions, and opportunities to improve the digital banking experience.
  • Partner with the Training Department to make sure system changes and updates are reflected in employee training and clearly communicated to staff.
  • Respond to employee and member questions by phone, email, or messaging with a sense of urgency and clear, helpful communication.
  • Respond to fraud, lost, stolen, and compromised-card alerts, take the required account steps, and contact members when action is needed.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes, training, and the overall member and employee experience.

You’ll Thrive Here If

  • You like troubleshooting. When something isn’t working, you want to understand why and figure out what comes next.
  • You notice patterns. One person having a problem may be an isolated issue. Several people having the same problem may signal something bigger.
  • You can translate technical issues into plain English. Members and teammates don’t need more jargon when something is already frustrating.
  • You stay calm when something breaks. You can prioritize, research, communicate, and keep moving when an issue needs quick attention.
  • You test the details. You’d rather find an issue before members do.
  • You communicate clearly. Whether you’re documenting an issue, answering a member, or explaining a change to employees, you make the next step easy to understand.
  • You work well across teams. Branches, the Contact Center, Training, vendors, and members may all be part of finding the solution.
  • You use good judgment. You understand when you can solve something yourself, when policy needs to guide the answer, and when an issue needs to be escalated.

What You’ll Bring

  • Six months of banking experience, card processing experience, or experience supporting debit card disputes or credit card programs is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to research complex issues, identify root causes, and work toward effective solutions
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete work accurately and on time
  • Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively when resolving difficult or time-sensitive situations
  • Sound judgment and the ability to follow organizational policies and procedures

What You’ll Build Here

This role gives you the opportunity to build deeper expertise in digital banking, card services, troubleshooting, fraud response, system testing, and financial operations.

You won’t just answer questions about digital tools. You’ll learn how the systems work together, help identify what is causing problems, and contribute to improvements that make banking easier for members and employees.

As you build your knowledge and experience, this position offers the opportunity to grow into a Senior Digital & Cards Specialist role.

A Little About AACU

Air Academy Credit Union has been recognized as a Gazette Best Workplace since 2017. We serve more than 43,000 members and manage over $815 million in assets.

But digital banking is ultimately about something much simpler: helping people get things done.

When someone needs to move money, make a payment, use their debit or credit card, or access their account, technology should make life easier. When it doesn’t, this team helps find out why and what to do next.

We believe in doing what’s right, not what’s easy. In this role, that means solving problems thoughtfully, communicating clearly, and looking for ways to make the next member’s experience better than the last.

If you like figuring out how things work and making them work better for people, we’d like to hear from you.

We anticipate this job posting to close on September 19, 2026. Please submit your application at your earliest convenience to be considered for this position
