Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Technician will additionally train other technicians at the property.

This position works at AION Management's two properties located in Indianapolis, The Meridian South and The Meridian North. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heaters, and ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Replace or repair defective components, such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients about system issues and solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used using AppWorks.
  • Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and industry best practices.
  • Determine the training needs of service personnel, scheduling or performing the necessary training.
  • Execute formalized HVAC training and onboarding of Service Technicians.
  • Coach and mentor service team members, performing assessments as requested or on an quarterly basis related to HVAC.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Valid HVAC certification and relevant licenses. EPA Type 2 required, EPA 608 Universal preferred. 
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role. Preferred Journeyman.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders up to 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities such as bending, kneeling, pushing.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability for after-hours emergencies as needed
