Summary
The successful candidate will support the project
manager and lead design engineer for supervising and coordinating civil and
structural engineering activities for construction works and any related design
works, ensuring that all site execution complies with approved designs, specifications,
quality standards, HSE requirements, and project procedures. The role provides
technical guidance, monitors contractor performance, manages construction
interfaces, reviews field documentation, supports resolution of site issues,
and ensures proper inspection, completion, and handover of civil and structural
works in line with project objectives.
Duties
& Responsibilities
1 MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for delivering the civil/structural engineering design
packages for projects, as appropriate for each phase, in line with the
corporate goal of competitive and affordable projects expectation
- Lead the design, analysis, and review of civil and structural
engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and
regulatory requirements.
- Apply the relevant project and engineering procedures in line with the
PMF/DCAF to deliver the appropriate engineering and design requirements and
ensure value creation, maturation and protection within the engineering design
space.
- Ensure all civil/structural engineering discipline requirements and
inputs are made into Project documents in close coordination with other
technical disciplines to ensure an integrated delivery.
- Act as technical expert on projects within the project’s organization
and responsible for the relevant discipline deliverables plan for projects.
Liaise with Corporate Engineering and other SMEs/TA to provide appropriate
technical assurance on projects construction documentation.
- Oversee all civil engineering activities during pipeline construction to
ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
- Supervise site operations and coordinate contractors to maintain
quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method
statements and ensure construction works meet applicable codes, standards, and
regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve technical queries/issues arising during
construction in line with the company TQ process..
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements on site.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets
required standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical,
electrical, and project management personnel and support project documentation,
reporting, and close-out activities.
- Carry out and perform basic and detailed design and engineering work:
Design Calculations, Simulations, Work scope definition, Project
Specifications, selection of standards, Preliminary Design Drawings as may be
required for specific projects
- Carry out civil/structural design reviews on third party design packages
including, BDP, FEED, Detailed Design to ensure compliance of the deliverables with provisions of the applicable Design
standards and specifications as part of the overall project quality assurance
program.
- Provide support for civil/structural engineering studies and change
impact analysis as part of the Management of Change (MOC) procedure.

Requirements
Education
A University degree or HND
in Civil/Structural Engineering
Experience/Certifications
Extensive experience (7-10 years) in the Oil & Gas
industry with direct experience of project engineering, design and
construction. At least 4 years should have been spent leading civil engineering
design work.

maintain a civil asset integrity management plan
- Execute asset integrity
surveys, investigations and audits.
- Perform structural analysis
and design for asset structural integrity
- Design, execute and
construct civil structures in steel and concrete
- Perform civil structural
design, including steel & concrete works
- Specify and apply concrete
technology including reinforced concrete design and pre-stressed concrete
design
- Concrete specification
including use of composite, admixtures, steel reinforcement, pre-stressing,
cube strength and mechanical properties and curing methods.
- Properties and behavior of
concrete, including physical and chemical properties of aggregates.
- Structural concrete
deterioration and preventive methods..
- Planning and design of
buildings including basic architectural principles for the design, including
ergonomics, living environment, blast resistance, landscaping, etc.
- Human factor engineering
for building design
- Specifications for the
design and construction of buildings.
- Specify and manage Lifting
and Hoisting
- Specify, perform advanced
structural analysis for blast foundation for dynamic machinery and non-linear
structural analysis applications.

execute metocean studies for marine facilities
